A group of us who lived and worked together in the dorms at USL (a long time ago) will have a booth at the Sweet Dough Pie Festival! We decided to have a theme, of course, and decided to name our booth after the newsletter we published for our wing of Bonin dorm freshman year. It was called the 'Tri Me Gazette,' so our booth will be called 'Tri Me Sweets.' Ha! Our booth will include Karen's crafts, Carolyn's creations, Ginny's baked treats, Susan's sweet dough pies, plus I'm going to try to make Red, White & UL fudge!

The 4th Annual Sweet Dough Pie Festival is Saturday, Oct. 24 in Grand Coteau, from 9 AM - 3PM on the grounds of St. Charles Borromeo Church.

The Sweet Dough Pie Fest features food from local restaurants, arts and crafts from over 70 vendors, blacksmith demonstrations, music and a sweet dough pie contest that lets the public be the judge! All interested bakers are encouraged to enter. A large variety of sweet dough pies will also be available for purchase.

Narrated trolley tours of St. Charles Church and the cemetery, St. Ignatius School, the St. Peter Claver complex, and the Schools of the Sacred Heart will be offered . This year, a special cemetery tour with dramatic portrayals of Grand Coteau characters from the past. Please, no alcohol or pets. From distant parking lots, you can catch a ride from the “Hay Ride Bus Stop.”

Festival proceeds go to the non - profit Grand Coteau Cultural Foundation, which issues grants through the Foundation to fund a variety of local improvements and scholarships. No pets or alcohol allowed.
