Update: An 11-year-old juvenile has been placed into the Juvenile Assessment Center and charged with Terrorizing following Wednesday’s lockdown at Alice Boucher Elementary School.

Cpl. Paul Mouton with Lafayette Police says around 2:30 p.m. a teacher noticed two juveniles jumping the fence around the school. The teacher told police one of them had a makeshift toy rifle, which teachers weren’t sure was real or not at the time, which caused the school to be put on lockdown.

Cpl. Mouton says they eventually caught up to the two juveniles, charging the one accused of bringing the makeshift toy rifle (which wasn’t real) with Terrorizing, while the other juvenile has been released.
