Today we lost country music legend George Jones who's career was remarkable to say the least.

George Jones was 81.  In his lifetime he charted more than any other country music artist.

Classic country is one of my favorite genres of music and George Jones one of my all-time favs.  Having said that, when I last saw him at the Heymann Center several months back, he looked in poor health and his voice had left him.  As saddened as I was while sitting in the audience, I was still very honored to be in his presence.

Here are a few live performances of George Jones classics:

George Jones "He Stopped Loving Her Today"

George Jones "Bartender's Blues"

George Jones "The Grand Tour"

George Jones and Tammy Wynette "Golden Ring"

George Jones "The Race Is On"

George Jones and Barbra Mandrell "I Was Country When Country Wasn't Cool" (Only Copy I Could Find)
