This is one of those animal stories that warms your heart with a happy ending.  A litter of kitten's mom was taken to a shelter leaving her kittens behind, but in the end, after a series of amazing events, they were reunited.

Customers at a restaurant in Pleasanton, California, near San Fransisco, could hear the sound of kittens coming from under a walkway that lead up to the restaurant.  But they couldn't reach them.  With help from a local animal shelter employees removed a board and the kittens were rescued, all five of them.  They were about three weeks old.

The kittens were thirsty and hungry with no mom in sight.  Turns out the mom was picked three days earlier by the SAME shelter.  Everyone could tell she had had kittens, but they couldn't find them.

There was another kitten at the shelter that wasn't part of her litter but also needed to eat.  Employees put it with the mama cat and she took it in as her own.

All six kittens are doing well and will go up for adoption in about five weeks.
