Bob Marley would have turned 70 on February 6th. He's been gone since 1981, but his influence lives on. Marley brought reggae to the mainstream of popular music. Three time Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame inductee Eric Clapton's first #1 single was a remake of Marley's "I Shot the Sheriff." UB-40 was influenced to to redo Neil Diamond's "Red Red Wine" with a reggae beat. It topped the charts in both the UK & the US. Carlos Santana rerecorded the classic "Exodus" in 2009. Marley's influence can be heard on the current chart hit "Rude," by Magic. To commemorate Marley's 70th, Universal Music has provided KTDY with a limited number of the "Easy Skankin' In Boston '78" CD/ DVD combo packs. It includes performances of Marley classics, "No Woman, No Cry" "Exodus" "Jammin", and "I Shot the Sheriff." Listen For Your Chance To win.
