The second annual LAGCOE Career Fair will be held Wednesday, October 29, from 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. at the Cajundome Convention Center according to LAGCOE's Claire Thom.

All veterans will be allowed to enter the job fair at 8:30 a.m. at today's event so that they may get a jump start on the day's opportunities.

LAGCOE Executive Director Angela Cring says,
"LAGCOE is proud to offer this exciting networking event in response to the oil and gas industry's critical need for qualified workforce. Our goal is to provide the industry with an outlet for recruiting and facilitate networking between existing and future professionals."
There will be 30 oil and gas companies that will be represented at this year's job fair, and the organization has lined up for speakers to assist job seekers on various aspects of getting a new job.
The four speakers include:
  • Danielle M. Dayries will present the "Resume Workshop: Can Your Resume Pass the 10 Second Test."
  • Jason Lopez will present "The Five Steps To Supercharging and Building Your Oil and Gas Career."
  • Sue Schleifer will present "Staying Motivated During Your Job Search."
  • Laurie James will present "How To Create a Great LinkedIn Presence."

Thom says the industry has an ever growing need for qualified employees for specific jobs that are crucial to the expansion of the oil and gas industry.

Another free benefit at tomorrow's job fair is that OilOnline.com/lag will be offering those in attendance a free headshot service for those that register their profile.
