LAGCOE Career Fair Provides Great Opportunities For Potential Employees
Louisiana Gulf Coast Oil Exposition (LAGCOE) is wrapping up its week of industry and community events on Thursday, as everything has led up to its Career Fair, which provides a unique opportunity in placing potential employees in direct contact with HR personnel.
LAGCOE is put on by hundreds of volunteers. They are one of the world's pioneer oil and gas expositions, and this event gives potential employees a chance to speak with professionals currently working in the industry. Career Development Sessions will be offered to attendees of Thursday's event as well.
Among the events happening over the last week involving LAGCOE have been the outdoor screening of the "Fracknation" documentary on Thursday, October 17. And on Wednesday, October 23, LAGCOE collaborated with numerous schools in Lafayette Parish, giving them a hands-on experience with the technology and mechanics of the oil and gas industry.
The LAGCOE Career Fair is happening at the Cajundome and Convention Center on Thursday. The general public is invited to attend from noon until 2:00 p.m. Job seekers are welcome to attend from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
LAGCOE Communications Director Claire Thom says companies will be showcasing job openings from the Mardi Gras Ballroom in the Cajundome and at marked exhibit spaces throughout the show, including worldwide leaders like Chevron and local companies like Frank's. Thom offers the following tips to job seekers:
