Lafayette sisters Molly and Katy Richard will make their national television debut tonight, when their 'aha moment' airs on ABC. The first appearance of the Mutual of Omaha commercial will run Wednesday during the show 'The Middle'; it begins 7pm local time on KATC TV3.

The Richards own Taco Sisters restaurant on Johnston Street. They were invited to film their aha moment with the Mutual of Omaha crew came to town last May, and were surprised in October to hear they were near the top of the competition in online views. “You can count on Lafayette when it comes to voting online!” says Molly Richard, “We were thrilled to announce the competition and see our customers add their votes to the hundreds of videos in the running.” In November, Mutual of Omaha announced the winners and the Taco Sisters led the pack. Chef Katy Richard insists “We have the best customers in the world and we’re so grateful!”

The Mutual of Omaha campaign refers to a life-changing moment. The aha moment in depicted is the sisters’ decision to finally open a restaurant after 25 years apart, talking about it long distance. “At some point, you have to stop talking about it, and do it” Molly Richard says in the video. Taco Sisters has much to celebrate as this week marks the restaurant’s third anniversary and the premier of their national television ad. The ad will run again later this month, on the February 29th episode of “Survivor” on CBS.

Congratulations Taco Sisters!
