Lafayette residents showed up in droves to Cajun Field this afternoon to buy Lafayette Strong yard signs, decals and t-shirts.

Hundreds of vehicles started lining up around 4 p.m. Wednesday to pick up the memorabilia that Pixus Digital Printing CEO Todd Landry said was printed and sold to support the victim's families of the Grand Theater shooting.

"We had a local artist come up with a design that embodies our spirit," Landry told KPEL. " We decided to jump on board. We said the only way we would participate is if we'd give 100 percent back to the victims. Every sign you see, every decal, every banner that we've printed...every penny of that is going to the victim's families."

Dual lanes of traffic snaked through Cajun Field to pick up some of the 7,500 yard signs, 1,000 t-shirts or deacls and banners depicting the state of Louisiana overlayed with the Acadian flag.

Landry estimated more than 250 volunteers were pounding the asphalt braving a heat index of 104 degrees helping to give out the products this afternoon.
