Do you have what it takes to be a SERTOMAn?  The Lafayette Sertoma Club is always looking for new members, and also looking for volunteer opportunities.

Since 1959, Lafayette Sertoma has been providing service to mankind through local community projects and fundraisers.  With the affiliation of Sertoma International, Lafayette Sertoma assists people with hearing health issues, sponsors community projects that promote freedom and democracy, and benefits local youth through other community needs.

The list of organizations/events that the Lafayette Sertoma Club's efforts have helped is long:  it includes donations to Hospice of Acadiana, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, St. Joseph's Diner, Habitat for Humanity, the Grief Center, Christmas in April, biomedical research on the causes and treatments of autism, Autism Society of Acadiana, and the Children’s Shelter of Acadiana.  Lafayette Sertoma also helped to provide interpreters for the Deaf for the Performing Arts Society of Acadiana, and have made donations to the Lafayette Community Health Clinic, among others.

The Lafayette Sertoma Club also built a bus stop kiosk for the Village du Lac in Lafayette.

If you would like to be a member of the Sertoma Club and help out here in Acadiana, contact Blaine Kelly at 225 421-9321 or bk4752@att.com
