Not everyone in Acadiana is inspired to help each other after the flood.

KATC reports that the Salvation Army was burglarized Tuesday morning. Employees found that someone stole a hand truck, TV converter box, and all food in the refrigerator and freezer between Sunday evening and Tuesday morning.

The food was for those people served by the Salvation Army, including those affected by the flood.

Tuesday morning, The Salvation Army in Lafayette discovered they were burglarized.

Major James of the Lafayette Salvation Army told KATC the group will 'continue to do what we have always done, what our mission is, 'To meet human needs in the name of Jesus Christ without discrimination.'

Donations are requested of the community to help replenish what was stolen. Monetary donations should be sent to The Salvation Army, PO Box 3504, Lafayette, 70502.

Supplies and other goods can be taken to the office at 212 6th Street in Lafayette. The Salvation Army has served over 15, 000 meals to flood victims in the last two weeks and continues to operate a homeless shelter, soup kitchen, and family thrift store.
