Lafayette Police Release Sketch of Carjacking Suspect
On August 10, 2011, at approximately 1:35 am, Lafayette Police responded to the 300 block of General Mouton regarding a carjacking. A female victim reported to officers that she had just entered her vehicle, when the suspect opened the driver’s side door and forced his way inside. After a short struggle the victim was able to exit on the passenger side of the vehicle. The suspect fled the area in the victim’s vehicle.
The vehicle stolen the night of the carjacking was recovered in Jennings by the Jennings Police Department on August 10, 2011, at 5:20 pm. Investigators are working with the Jennings Police Department in processing the vehicle for evidence and interviewing the suspect found in possession of the vehicle. The investigation remains ongoing.
