Lafayette Parish Public Schools Are Closed Wednesday

Lafayette Parish public schools are closed Wednesday. Teachers and students do not have to report.  Principals, office staff and custodians should report if they can do so safely.

As KTDY has been reporting all day, radar confirms, heavy rains with possible severe thunderstorms are headed toward the Acadiana area this evening.  These storms could cause flooding due to already swollen waterways.

The line of storms headed this way are slow moving.  Rains should come to an end by the weekend.
