Neighborhood residents and volunteers will be kicking off a neighborhood revitalization project Saturday by painting a mural on the first of several street intersections in McComb-Veazey. The mural will be painted at the intersection of 12th St. and S. Magnolia. Vendors will also set up booths and sell their merchandise throughout the day with items such pies, cds, books, prayer pillows, jewelry, etc.  The McComb- Veazey Block Party officially kicks off at 3 PM with live family-friendly entertainment in a wholesome and secure environment.

The McComb/Veazey revitalization initiative is a long-term partnership between residents of the neighborhood including the McComb- Veazey Neighborhood Coterie and several community development organizations including LCG Comprehensive Planning Department, Habitat, Rebuilding Together Acadiana, and LCG Department of Community Development.  If you’d like to be a part of this community event, be at the corner of 12th St. and S. Magnolia between 10 AM & 2 PM for the mural painting, and from 2 PM until 8 PM on Saturday, November 24.
