Lafayette High is Conducting a Lockdown Drill This Morning
It’s only a drill… On Monday, October 1, 2012 LPSS Superintendent and Lafayette High School administration, in conjunction with Lafayette law enforcement agencies, conducted a lockdown drill and search at Lafayette High School.
From LPSS: “The drill is both a training exercise and a precautionary measure being conducted now due to recent behavior patterns observed by staff and security officers that raised the level of attention to issues surrounding the safety of our school and the students and staff. Preparedness is the key to saving lives. The drill began at 6:15 this morning and will continue until every step of the process has been completed. Any relevant updates will be provided as needed. The District will conduct these exercises throughout the school year as part of the Safe Schools initiative.”
