A series of mini-explosions at the Recycling Foundation on Cameron Street have Lafayette Firefighters trying to put out the blaze.

According to our news partners at KATC, the fire began when a cardboard caught on fire, and has since spread to other areas, including three metal buildings filled with recyclable products. Thankfully, Lafayette Fire officials say there are no injuries and nothing is hazardous in the air.

Fire officials also say the fire is under control.

Numerous people, including listeners of Newstalk 96.5 FM KPEL, say lots of smoke could be seen coming from the scene. Some people have even said it could be seen on I-10.
