We are pretty forward - thinking here in Lafayette when it comes to business, research, music, and cuisine.

It looks like we may not be so forward - thinking when it comes to art, though. Lafayette artist Nicole Touchet has been forced by her landlords to cover up artwork featuring nudity, according to The Independent. Touchet's gallery is in Gordon Square in downtown Lafayette, owned by Property One Inc., which claims Touchet violated her lease agreement with her nude self - portraits.

Here's Touchet with one of the pieces she was required to cover.

Touchet relocated to New Orleans a few months ago and is frustrated that Lafayette is not a place that can accept her art. It was tastefully done and in an indoors setting, not posted on a billboard.

Do you think Touchet's art should have been censored? Let us know on Facebook.
