The Basile Mardi Gras Association brings a traditional country Mardi Gras run to Vermilionville for its annual Courir de Mardi Gras event on Sunday, February 1.

The day will feature capuchon-making workshops for the kids, the courir and an overview of the Mardi Gras tradition, and more.

Children will have an opportunity to chase a chicken themselves, with the one who catches it winning a prize. Gumbo, music, and other entertainment will also be available. View the full schedule below.

Admission for the Courir de Mardi Gras is $5; children under 3 get in free. This event is in conjunction with LARC’s annual bead drive; those who bring a bag of beads to donate will get $1 off their admission fee. Click here for more information or call (337) 233-4077.
