Just because she’s one of music’s hottest stars doesn’t mean that Kelly Clarkson likes to hear or talk about herself.

“My job is a lot of talking about myself, so that’s really narcissistic,” she recently told Showbiz Spy. “It can get draining. Towards the end of the day I’m like, ‘I hate Kelly Clarkson.’ So, I think it’s just healthy to have some time off now and again, that way I have off time for me and do something fresh for interviews. You don’t get used to talking about yourself. Well, I hope I don’t!”

Just in the past 12 months alone, Clarkson’s career has reached new levels and has been spotlighted for many of her recent successes, including her new album ‘Stronger’ and her multi-week No. 1 song with country star Jason Aldean on ‘Don’t You Wanna Stay.’

However, her personal life has not always been as successful. The singer has revealed that she hit “rock bottom” about five years ago when struggling with her rise to fame.

Clarkson has since found a balance in her life and career, which results in much downtime when she is out of the spotlight. Her favorite place to sneak away to is her Texas ranch that is also the home for close to 50 animals.

“When I relax, I simply don’t do anything,” Clarkson says. “I literally hang out on my land … I just walk around and hang out with my animals. We have a big ranch and I don’t do anything – it’s great. The last thing I want to do is go out. People will be like, ‘Hey’ and then they start asking you questions and it’s like sometimes you just need to like, not talk.”

So what is something Clarkson loves? How about her passion for Republican candidate (and fellow Texan) Ron Paul in the 2012 presidential race.
