American Idol's first queen has decided where succession to her throne should end.

Last night (February 10), Idol's final season kicked off its first round of semi-final performances by inviting half of the remaining 24 contestants to sing for their lives. Five will be eliminated as part of tonight's (February 11) results show, but as far as Kelly Clarkson's concerned, the reduction is a formality — the show has already found its winner in 22-year-old La'Porsha Renae.

"Okay if @laporsharenae doesn't win Idol there's something seriously wrong w/America! I mean, goodness! I stood up n my house, that's right!" Kelly tweeted after Renae's performance of Tina Turner's "Proud Mary" (you can check it out in the video above). And Kelly wasn't the only one left gobsmacked — judges Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick Jr. struggled to deal the performance its deserved praise, too.

"You're either gonna make other competitors get better, or you're gonna make them want to quit," Connick Jr. bluntly offered.

Still, as longtime fans of the show will recall, favorites can change at the drop of the hat. On Idol's first season, former judge Simon Cowell declared early in the competition that if the voting public didn't vote Tamyra Gray as its winner, the series would have failed. Of course, his tune changed completely when Kelly began to pick up steam and edge out Gray in the contest's final weeks.

Clarkson will appear as a guest judge on Idol's February 25 episode — perhaps a performance with her pick for winner is in the realm of possibility...?

Think Kelly's right: Is La'Porsha your final American Idol? Share your thoughts, and see if she's selected as a finalist tonight!
