Junior Quiz Bowl Championship

I had the honor to participate in the Junior Quiz Bowl Championship this morning with the Junior League of Lafayette.  It was absolutely an amazing day!  As part of the Junior League of Lafayette I knew that I would be required to do a certain number of service hours but I never knew how much fun it would be.

The Junior Quiz Bowl events help to promote and conduct an educational competition and to promote academic excellence at the 6th through 8th grade levels.  The children gathered once a week from October to March to compete against other schools.  28 teams were registered to participate from 14 of the Acadiana schools.

When I arrived at my first weekly Junior Quiz Bowl meeting I was very nervous, since I did not know what to expect.  After the first five minutes I knew I was in love with every aspect of the event.  The children were so lively and funny, plus they blew me away with all the knowledge they possess.

Today was the championship day that every team has been working towards for the past year.  It was an amazing experience that I am grateful I got to participate in. In my mind every team and child is a winner but the final winner of the 2015 Junior Quiz Bowl Championship was Paul Breaux Middle School.  Congratulations!!
