Many of you have heard the rumblings about Jo-El Sonnier's remake of his own song called 'Healing Song'.  Well tomorrow in Lafayette, is the day it gets released to media and then the world.  The song will also be accompanied by a video of the same name.

I had the honor, and I do not use that word lightly, of watching this song being recorded and later, the making of the video.  The new version comes at a critical time for us.  The world is changing and sometimes not for the better.  'Healing Song' is an effort on the part of many (all volunteers) to touch the hearts of those who have lost loved ones, friends and members of the community.  With the unkind acts by some, locally and around the world, 'Healing Song' is destined to bring people together.

Today on his Facebook page, Mr. Sonnier, fresh off the Festivals Acadiens stage had this to say:

"Tomorrow afternoon in Lafayette a press conference will be held to announce the project that was recorded by me and 17 of my Louisiana musician/artist friends includin' Wayne Toups, Chubby Carrier, Steve Riley, Buckwheat Zydeco, Roddie Romero, Michael Doucet, Sonny Landreth, Joel Savoy, Yvette Landry, Eric Adcock,Charlene Howard, David Faulk, Beau Thomas, Brian Brignac, Kyle Hebert , Ray Ellender and Tony Daigle. It was recorded at Dockside Studio with our dear friends Steve and Wish Nails. A video of the recordin' of the song will also be premiered during' the press conference. Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne who has been a huge supporter of the project, will host the press conference. I don't think I've ever been more proud of any of my recording' projects as I am of this one. To have so many of my fellow Louisiana musician/artists join me on this project, has touched my heart so deeply. The Healin' Song is our way of givin' back to all of those who are in need of any kind of Healin'.  My momma always told me that music is like medicine. If that's true, this song should be able to heal the world. Visit my website tomorrow after 3pm for information on how you can download the song and the video will be available to be viewed at that time".

Congratulations to all the performers and musicians for a job very well done.
