Jo-El Sonnier, Wayne Toups, Roddie Romero, Chubby Carrier and some of the best musicians in Louisiana are donating their time to work on a new song for Lafayette called 'The  Healing Song'.

It's a labor of love, honor and healing.  The remake of Jo-El Sonnier's 'The Healing Song' is being recorded over the next several weeks at Dockside Studio in Maurice.  The Grammy award winner is spearheading the remake himself and has called in favors from Acadiana's best.

Tuesday evening, after recording all day, Sonnier anxiously awaited the arrival of Wayne Toups to lay down vocal and accordion tracks.  Before getting started, Toups showed off his new 'Saints' accordion.  Sonnier grabbed it and played it, as Toups, a Grammy award winner himself, watched.  It was an amazing night!
