The New Orleans Saints have arguably the league's best tight end, for the time being. They applied the non exclusive franchise tag to all pro tight end Jimmy Graham earlier this year. NOLA.COM reports the NFLPA has filed a grievance against the Saints on Graham's behalf, contending he should be franchised as a wide receiver rather than a tight end. What's the difference you ask?...about $5 million a year. Graham's contention is that he lined up at wide receiver for twice as many snaps as he did at the traditional tight end position. The Saints could end up paying him has much as $12 million a year, if they can find the cap room. The NFLPA reports they're only about $3.5 million under the salary cap, with the draft beginning tomorrow night (Thurs., May 8th).
