Each year, our friend Jessica sends me a Christmas card, and they keep getting better and better!

The Christmas Card idea started in 1843 as a way to capitalize on the holiday, according to the "Why Christmas" website. A government worker in the UK had the idea (with the help of his friend, who was an artist) of selling Christmas greetings in the form of one of the relatively new "postcards" that were introduced just 3 years earlier, in 1840.

Today, over 2 billion Christmas cards are sold in in the US alone!

Jessica is a listener who has become a great friend. She frequently blogs about her faith, her family, and her experiences going through life in command of a wheelchair.
