Good news for people who work for the Jefferson Davis Parish School Board as they will be getting an one-time extra supplement payment for their work.

This week, the school board voted to give workers the pay supplement.  Board President Donald Dees says the board will use $429,000 in line-item money from the state of Louisiana to give workers the money.

Teachers, librarians, counselors, principals and assistant principals are going to get a one-time payment of $712 on November 1.

The remaining $160,000 in state funding will remain in the budget, and a decision about what to do with those funds will be made at another time.

Dees adds that school board administrators and other professional employees will be getting a supplemental check that is equal to the certified personnel.
