AJRF organized the Annual 'jeep jaunt' JAM!! this past Saturday, and it was a huge success!!  Even with the inclement weather, people showed up in droves to register for the 7th Annual 'jeep jaunt' (benefiting the American Lung Association).

The "JAM!!" was the official "Registration Kick-Off Party" for the 'jeep jaunt' (which happens on October 28th of this year), and Sterling Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram on I-49 played host to over 200 people, who were most gracious when we had to move the party into the service department because of the rain.

Paul (and Mr. T-Beaux) from Cajun Express Catering fired up the pit and grilled burgers and dogs (donated by Pat's Grocery in Youngsville); Lafayette Coca-Cola offered up the beverages; Landry's Cafe' on Pinhook donated some Jambalaya.... everyone ate well and had the chance to win fabulous door prizes from merchants all around Acadiana, all in support of the American Lung Association (ALA).

Jaryd Lane and "His Boys" entertained the crowd after a make-shift auditorium was set up inside the service department at Sterling, playing covers as well as originals (it was an "unplugged" set; we heard that he rocked out at the Shrimp Festival Saturday night!).

Leryn Detraz of Kaplan was presented a certificate of appreciation for her donation to the American Lung Association: last year, Leryn had a sneezing 'fit' in class at Vermilion Catholic, and her classmate happened to catch it on video and upload it to Youtube.  "39 Sneezes" went viral (with over 814,000 hits), and even hit some of the television news/talk programs.  Leryn decided to have t-shirts printed and sold them at the annual Louisiana Cattle Festival in Abbeville and was able to raise over $2000 for ALA!

Great job Leryn, and thank you for your donation to ALA!!

Hundreds of Jeep enthusiasts from all over Louisiana came together for the day to share their love of Jeeps, people, and giving back.  Many business in Acadiana donated items for door prizes, including Light Line of Louisiana, McDonald's, Smokey Hebert's Snap-On Tools, Schilling Distributors, Spa Mizan, Pamplona, Walk Ons, Great Escape Water Massage, Daigle's Family Sauces and so many more!

All proceeds from the day went directly to the American Lung Association.

Pre-registration remains open for the 'jeep jaunt' through October 19th, and registration forms can be downloaded and printed from www.ajrf.org
