I checked the PO Box last night before I headed home, and it was chocked full of registrations for the 'jeep jaunt'!!

We are gearing up for the 7th Annual 'jeep jaunt', which is coming up a week from today, and as of last night there were 656 people registered for the event!!  So far, 280 vehicles have been entered into the ride, and just from registrations we've received so far, we have raised more than $12,000 for the American Lung Association!

This week will be spent at 'jeep jaunt' Central, stuffing ditty bags and tying up last-minute details and visiting local restaurants and businesses to beg for door prizes/auction items.  (Psssst!!  If you own a business, we would love to get a gift certificate from you for our event.. call me if you would like to donate, 337-849-8928.)

The 'jeep jaunt' has enjoyed great success over the last 6 years, and we couldn't do it without the help of the great people of Acadiana, including the clubs that show up in full force to help with our cause.  Bon Temps Jeep Club, Cajun Jeepers, Louisiana Jeepers, LA 4X4, Trail Lizards Jeep Club....  so many groups that help us out!!

One of those groups, the Bayou State Land Cruisers Association (BSLCA), is having their monthly meeting today at Pizza Village on Kaliste Saloom at 1pm.  The BSLCA is a Toyota club open to all Toyota 4WD enthusiasts.

The objective of BSLCA is to preserve the Land Cruiser legend and promote the interest of Land Cruiser and Toyota 4WD's to fellow enthusiasts. If you take pride in restoring, building and using your Toyota you'd enjoy their group. Off-road trips, wrenching sessions, community work, and camping are a few of their activities, all in a family atmosphere.

If you are a 4x4 enthusiast - or, if you are enthusiastic about any hobby - you might want to look into joining one of the many groups in Acadiana - you'll make new friends, learn more about your hobby (passion!!), and, through the groups' support of non-profit organizations, who knows, you might just make a difference in someone's life!
