Ryan Ferguson was wrongfully convicted of murder in 2004. CNN reports He served 10 years in prison before being exonerated. Ferguson and a friend were drinking at a Columbia Missouri bar in 2001. Sportswriter Kent Heitholt was murdered in a nearby parking lot shortly after 2 am. A janitor witnessed the crime, but was unable to positively identify the killer. Ferguson's drinking buddy, Charles Erickson later implicated Ferguson, and the janitor changed his story. Ferguson's father Bill spent nearly a decade finding proof his son was innocent. Two witnesses eventually confessed to perjury. Ram Silverman got word of Ferguson's story, and wanted to give the young man a once in a lifetime experience. Silverman used the resources of Golden Tickets, a business he co founded to set Ferguson and his father up with a free trip to Super Bowl XLIX.
