Every Wednesday, I see social media posts to the effect of "Is it Friday yet?" It seems like folks begin to lose their focus by mid week. The Huffington Post reports there are foods that may alleviate the problem. Let's start at the beginning...breakfast. Don't skip it! I've read eating almost anything is better than skipping breakfast. It "starts the motor." That being said, it's best to eat whole grains, rather than sugary cereal. Eat oatmeal, bran, or wheat toast. This one tops my priority list. COFFEE! Caffeine stimulates the mind, and enhances mental clarity...to a point. Don't drink so much you're bouncing off the walls. You won't be able to focus on anything. Remember when you were in school and chewing gum in class was forbidden? Turns out it reduces stress, enabling greater focus. Many of us have trouble making it through the afternoon. Have a salad for lunch. Research indicates regular consumption of leafy greens has a rejuvenating effect on the brain. By the way, as I write this, it's not Friday yet. It's Wednesday, and it's not time for lunch yet. Onward through the fog!
