Puppeteering seems to be a lost art in this age of computer animation. It was very popular when I was a kid. A touring marionette troupe came to our school and did a production of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's Hiawatha. I got to go backstage after the show, see the marionettes up close, and meet the puppeteers. It was fascinating! Ricky Syers is keeping the art form alive. He performs with hand made marionettes.
