$175 to 200 million worth of work will be done on Interstate 10 soon, and Acadiana residents - as well as those who pass through that area - should be very happy once it is done.

DOTD spokesperson Deidre Druilhet says, in the next year, workers will be adding a third travel lane to parts of I-10 from its intersection with I-49 to the base of the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge. Groundbeaking is expected to begin in September with work beginning after the holidays.

Listen to Deidre explain the project, as well as what's going on with the Verot School Widening Project and the construction work in Broussard on U.S. 90.
