I love my TOMS shoes. I have the classic style in denim canvas and the tag on the back looks just fine on that pair. But I also have the black "Glitters." That blue and white striped tag isn't so cute on those. I decided it would look just awful peeking out under my black crepe pants every time I took a step, so I blindly risked ruining my $54 investment last night. And it turned out perfectly!

Here's how to remove the label from your TOMS shoes:Here's what you'll need:

  • Seam Ripper
  • Tweezers
  • Scissors
  • About 20 minutes

Step 1. Use the seam ripper to cut the individual stitches.

Step 2. Gently pull off the tag. If it doesn't want to release, check to make sure all the stitches are cut.

Step 3. Use the tweezers to pull out the bits of thread that stay behind. (This one bit of thread just didn't want to come out, so I had to finesse it by pulling on the tiny bit above and kind of working it until it finally came out on the long side. I suppose you could use some really sharp scissors if you had to, but the tweezers pulled every last bit out cleanly.)

Step 4. Pick all the little fuzzies off the shoe and your pants and you're good to go!

Because mine were the black glittery ones, the spot where the label came off is practically invisible. I'm guessing on the lighter colors or the canvas, you might be able to see it more, but if the label bothers you, I'm sure the little shadow of a label will bother you less.
