With the popularity of the Bruno Mars song, 'When I Was Your Man,' I thought I'd share this post by a blogger named Dan Pearce. He's a single father who has been divorced twice. Dan was asked to give advice to his sister who was about to get married and decided instead to tell her what NOT to do. Anyone who is married or in a relationship or hopes to be someday, should read this.

Having been married for 30+ years, I see the truth in many of them and I'm grateful that my husband and I have been good about most of these through all those years.

Some of my favorite tips (paraphrased) are below:

  • Don't stop holding hands.
  • Don't use the bathroom at the same time.
  • Don't skip things that are important to the other.
