One morning last March, I stumbled to the coffee pot, poured a cup, went to living room & turned the TV on. The first thing I heard was ESPN's Trey Wingo loudly proclaiming, "The NFL has uncovered a bounty system by the New Orleans Saints!" Not the way I wanted to start my day. As I listened further, it became apparent that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell would come down VERY hard.

When the penalties were announced, they far exceeded anything I could have imagined. The off season was  a nightmare for members of Who 'Dat Nation, appeal hearings, lawsuits, and conflicting sworn statements. The actual season was surreal. The team that had won more games the previous three seasons than any other went 7-9 & failed to reach the playoffs. Super Bowl XLVII will soon be played at the Superdome. Numerous New Orleans restaurants have made it clear they won't serve commissioner Goodell. Who 'Dat Nation is still pretty angry & bitter, myself included. That being said, we need to let it go."We" includes me. What's done is done. We can't do anything about it.

We CAN look to the future. We have the NFL's best quarterback, the most brilliant offensive mastermind since the legends Bill Walsh & Don Coryell, a talented team and a great venue for home games. I'm pretty sure the guys will be on a mission. We've dealt with disappointment before. Who 'Dat nation is hardy & resilient. Who 'Dat?........WE 'DAT!!!
