How Can I Register To Vote Online?

The mid-term elections are still a month away, but the deadline for Louisiana voter registration for those mid-terms ends on October 16th.

I found the Louisiana Secretary of State website very easy to navigate, and registering to vote is a very simple process that you can complete in less than 5 minutes.

Just have the following information ready when you log on to the website:

• Name
• DOB
• Gender
• Louisiana Driver's License Number (with Audit Code)
• Social Security Number

Registering to vote is the easy part: any idiot can do it. The down side to that is this: any idiot can vote.

Don't be an idiot voter. Take time to research the candidates and whatever measures are on the ballot. Voting without educating yourself on the issues is about as smart as handling a snake you aren't able to identify and, as we've come to find out, there are plenty of snakes in Louisiana politics (I just wish we had more antivenom available).
