People have been stealing hotel towels since the very first hotel opened.  In 2015, stealing a hotel towel will cost you.

A Miami based company called Linen Tracking Technology has created an inexpensive, tiny chip that hotels put in towels, robes and anything in the room that is not bolted down.  Two thousand hotels are currently using them.

If you steal something with a chip in it, you probably won't have to do jail time, but the hotel will track you down and either get the item back or charge you for it.

Technology has to ruin everything.
