After hitting a snag in the plans for a Downtown Lafayette location, Hook & Boil owner Mark Alleman cleared the air for his customers.

In an open letter posted to the official Hook and Boil Facebook page, Alleman acknowledged the roadblocks he faced during his effort to open a location in Downtown Lafayette. Alleman's efforts are related to a story we reported on surrounding the seizure and sale of the old Filling Station location, which had many wondering what the fate of the original Hook and Boil location would be.

Alleman clears all of it up in his Facebook post telling customers that he and his staff look forward to many "years to come."

Best of luck to Alleman and his crew. Business isn't ever flawless and no rewards are ever realized without risks, so we hope to see him continue to serve up the delicious crawfish that we've come to know and love.

As far as what will occupy the Filling Station location, no one knows. But we can always bet that someone will inevitably mention PF Changs or Dave & Busters.
