I was in Albertson's the other day and spotted some Riunite Lambrusco on the shelf. Instead of buying some, I rushed home to research all the old wine commercials I remember seeing on television in the 1970s and '80s. Y'know, before Chardonnay was 'a thing.' In those days, people were mostly drinking cocktails and beer, and wine was just becoming popular. Whether you drink water, Gatorade, or something with a kick, you'll enjoy seeing these old TV spots.

    Riunite

"Riunite on ice... tastes so nice." Well, that's what people thought at the time anyway.

  • 2

    Blue Nun

    "It's a premium quality imported wine." Uh-huh.

  • 3

    Ripple

"Ripple will never replace beer." Now, that's a fine slogan.

  • 4

    Mateus Rose

"The rose wine that's like a trip to Portugal." Gosh, thanks for the offer, but I'll pass.

    Gallo Pink Chablis

"It's the beautiful new wine from Gallo that captures what a blush is all about." Embarrassment?
