Hospice of Acadiana announces a new program that recognizes the special bond between hospice patients and their pets, Pet Peace of Mind®.

Launching early August, Pet Peace of Mind® fulfills Hospice of Acadiana’s mission to enable those with life - limiting conditions to continue living as fully and comforably as possible.

A pet supply drive is scheduled for Saturday, July 25 from 8 - 11 AM at Hospice of Acadiana at 2600 Johnston Street. Supplies may be dropped off conveniently in the parking lot. Most - needed Items include cat food, litter and safe chew toys.

Pet Peace of Mind® enables patients to focus on their end of life journey concern for their pet’s current or future needs. Pet Peace of Mind® offers pet care for patients who are unable to care for their Pets while on hospice, provided by volunteers

In-home pet care, pet food for patients with low income, scheduling veterinary appointments, and emergency boarding and temporary housing funding are among the services offered.
