Happy National Junk Food Day!  It always occurs on July 21st. National Junk Food Day is considered to be an opportunity to eat your favorite junk food without guilt. So what will it be for you today, fries, chips or perhaps your favorite candy bar?

Dietitians define junk food as any food that contains little nutritional value. The category also includes foods that are high in salt, fat and sugar. Basically, junk food encompasses all the tasty munchies that dietitians and Mom determine is bad for us.

So go ahead, today is the day to indulge yourself.  There’s always tomorrow to get back on your healthy eating kick. Afterall, if it's good enough for Avril Lavigne, pictured above, it must be good enough for us.
