Happy National Drink Beer Day!

Today (Sept. 28th) is "National Drink Beer Day." As if people in Acadiana needed an excuse to drink beer! The origin of this day is unclear, according to nationaldaycalendar.com. Beer is the world's most popular "adult" beverage.  Americans of legal drinking age consumed an  average of 300 beers per capita last year. We have more choices than ever before, with micro breweries popping up all over the US. I like to cook with beer. It makes really fluffy pancakes. A roast cooked in the Crockpot with beer is a tender, tasty treat. How do we commemorate this special day? Simple! call a friend & throw back a few. Too bad it's not Friday!
