Happy National Cat Day!

Four million cats enter shelters in the US every year. Nearly half of them are euthanized, according to a report from National Today. National Cat day was established for October 29th, to raise awareness and encourage adoption. We have a cat at home. His name is Jacues (pictured above). A recent survey indicates 44% of Americans have at least one cat.

Nearly half of cat owners, my fiancee included, tell their cats "I love you." Women are far more likely (3 to 1) to claim they understand what their cats say when they meow.
