There's plenty of spooky but family - friendly fun in Downtown Lafayette this weekend.

Cedryl Ballou and the Zydeco Trendsetters take the stage at Parc Sans Souci Friday night with a special Halloween costume contest in coordination with the Children’s Museum of Acadiana’s Spooktacular event.

The Children’s Museum of Acadiana’s Spooktacular event continues October 28, 29 and 31 at the museum, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Kid-friendly,  spooky exhibits and activities and are available each night, as well as a costume contest. Costume contest contestants take the DTA stage at 7 p.m. with the winner announced shortly afterwards. All are invited to wear costumes.

Movies in the Parc takes over the rooftop of the parking garage next to Parc Sans Souci featuring Hocus Pocus. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the movie starts at 9 p.m. Costumes are welcome and blankets and wagons are encouraged.

Admission is $3 and free for children 5 and under. Food and beverages will be available on-site for purchase, with parking available on the lower levels of Parc-Auto du Centreville at Polk and Vermilion Streets and metered spots.
