Greater Acadiana Food Bank Needs Help
FoodNet is in urgent need of donations.
About 29,000 in Lafayette Parish are served annually by FoodNet. Clients are pre-screened and referred to FoodNet through 232-HELP.
"FoodNet experiences fewer donations from June - October due to the school summer break and because people are genuinely trying to make ends meet within their own families". - Lemel Jones, FoodNet Executive Director
FoodNet clients include seniors, veterans, low income households, and disabled persons.
Jones notes that donations fall off between June & October, and the next major food drive is not until the November 5th Rotary Election Day Food Drive.
Inventory is dangerously low. FoodNet has had to reduce the quantity of food per bag. The FoodNet warehouse is located at 217 Surrey Street in Lafayette. You can also contact Le"Mel" Jones at firstname.lastname@example.org
