The Teal Pumpkin Project aims to help kids with food allergies enjoy trick or treating.

Kids with food allergies often feel left out of activities other kids take for granted, like trick or treating on Halloween. The Teal Pumpkin Project was established by FARE (Food Allergy Research & Education) to make Halloween night a safe and fun time for all children. It's easier than ever to participate now that many stores carry teal pumpkins.

Here's how to take part in the Teal Pumpkin Project:

Provide non-food treats for trick-or-treaters. These include:

Glow sticks, bracelets, or necklaces
Pencils, pens, crayons or markers
Bubbles
Halloween erasers or pencil toppers
Mini Slinkies
Whistles, kazoos, or noisemakers
Bouncy balls
Finger puppets or novelty toys
Coins
Spider rings
Vampire fangs
Mini notepads
Playing cards
Bookmarks
Stickers
Stencils

Place a teal pumpkin in front of your home to indicate to passersby that you have non-food treats available

Spread the word! Share the Teal Pumpkin Project with your friends and family
