Vermilionville will host ‘Gateway to the Grammys’, a Grammy fundraiser and send-off celebration for three local bands who travel to Los Angeles to attend the 2015 Grammy Awards.  Cajun musicians The Magnolia Sisters, Jo-El Sonnier and Bonsoir Catin will take the stage at Vermilionville’s Performance Center on Thursday, January 15th from 7:00 – 11:00 p.m. The evening will be emceed by host of KRVS’s ‘Zydeco Stomp,’ Herman Fuselier.

The three Cajun groups were nominated for the Best Regional Roots Album Grammy, along with Hawaiian musician Kamaka Kukona and Native American artist Joe Tohonnie Jr. Bonsoir, Catin, a first-time Grammy nominee for their album “Light the Stars”, will be sharing Vermilionville’s stage on the 15th with the Magnolia Sisters, nominated for “Love’s Lies” and Rayne native Jo-El Sonnier, nominated for “The Legacy.” Sonnier, a 40-year music veteran, has been nominated for 4 Grammys previously and was inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame in 2009. The Magnolia Sisters were nominated for the Best Cajun/Zydeco Album Grammy category in 2010.

KRVS 88.7 FM will air a special live broadcast of the event from Vermilionville’s site. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and food and beverages will be available for purchase. Cost is $15 per person.
