The 50th anniversary of Flat Stanley is just one of the exciting events for kids of all ages scheduled for November and December at the Lafayette Public Library!

50th Anniversary of FlatStanley

Bring your kids to the Lafayette Public Library to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Flat Stanley! Your children can design their own Flat Stanley and then take pics of him on adventures around town or the globe! The person who submits the most creative Flat Stanley will win a prize and may even have their photos posted on our website and Facebook page. Click here to enter. One entry per child. The winner will be announced on Friday, 12/12.

LEGO Robotics

Participants will learn how to program a LEGO robot to use its light sensor to follow a black line. The robots will also become Sumo wrestlers and compete in circular rings. Click here to register.

Local pageant queens from the Lafayette and throughout Acadiana will read a princess story and take photos with children. All children are invited to wear their most regal finery for this special royal storytime.

Christmas Kids Alive!

Christmas Kids Alive! is a fun event for the entire family sponsored by Lafayette Public Library and the Sigma Alpha Iota musical fraternity. The program will feature performances by local music students as well as a reading of 'The Night Before Christmas' by Mrs. Claus!

Teens, you can learn how to make your own stop-motion masterpiece! We provide you with video equipment and walk you through the shooting process. Participants will have the opportunity to submit their videos to a statewide competition and compete for a cash prize. Registration begins December 8.
