Vermilionville Living History Museum & Folklife Park hosts a variety of special events each month including its weekly Cajun Jam on Saturdays, Bal du Dimanche (Sunday Dance) as well as perennial exhibits. The village is open Tuesday – Sunday from 10 AM-4 PM. Admission is $10 for adults, $6 for students, $8 for senior citizens 65+ and children 5 and under get in free. Saturday, January 3: Cajun Jam, 1-330 PM, Saturday, January 10th, 1-330 PM

Vermilionville's weekly Cajun Jam, presented by Community Coffee Company, is a free jam and is located in Vermilionville’s Performance Center. Led by some of the area’s finest musicians, the jam is open to all skill levels, beginner to professional. Admission is free for the jam only and does not include entry to the park. Sunday, January 4:  Bal du Dimanche with Leroy Thomas & the Zydeco Road Runners, 1-4 PM

Dance the afternoon away with Leroy Thomas & the Zydeco Road Runners at Vermilionville's weekly Sunday Dance. Refreshments will be available for this smoke-free,  family friendly performance at Vermilionville's Performance Center.   Bal du Dimanche is held every Sunday. $10 admission is for the dance only and does not include entry to the park.

Saturday, January 10: Les Mains Guidées : Mortis & Tennon, 10 AM-12 PM

Vermilionville’s newest monthly series allows you to learn crafts from master artisans is called “Les Mains Guidées,” French for “Guided Hands”. Participants will work with and learn from Vermilionville artisan Joël Pautz, who will be teaching mortis and tennon. Participants will choose one of the common woodworking joints illustrated in the Mouton house and learn how to reproduce it using only hand tools.
