If you made gumbo while at Orange Beach or Destin recently, pay close attention. Country Fresh has recalled 30,000 cases of vegetables from retail chains due to possible listeria contamination. The products include fresh cut celery, onions, creole mix and more. A sample collected from a store by the Georgia Department of Agriculture tested positive, thus the recall from stores in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. They were sold at Walmart, Publix, and other stores. Listeria bacteria can cause infections which could be fatal in children and elderly people, and symptoms can take a couple of days or as long as two months to appear.
